Halloween?!?!
Well, October is almost here and it is time we all started thinking about Halloween costumes. I have always made my children’s costumes and now that they are grown, (I still do!!) I get to make the costumes for my grandchildren.

My question today
Do you make or buy your Halloween costumes?

What a great group of costumes through the years.
For my boys I have always bought costumes. They are relatively inexpensive and since I do not have a machine to make anything, easy. Of course we can not seem to figure out what to get for our 5 year old this year. I guess we need to move along on that ASAP.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Those are some amazing costumes! Wow! I've only made one costume & that was when my now 6 yr old was 2. She was a bumble bee. But it was just a yellow shirt with black electrical tape stripes, lol, black shorts (we lived in FL at the time), black tights & I took some black felt & wrapped it around her shoes, because I couldn't find any black shoes for her. Then I put her hair in pigtails & took pipe cleaners & tied them around her pigtails for antenna. I attached little yellow pompoms to the end of the pipe cleaners.

Those costumes are wonderful. So far we’ve bought his last two costumes, but we’re planning to try our hand at making his costume this year.

I love all of the costumes! I wish I could sew but I have no clue. This will be my daughter’s first time dressing up and trick or treating. I’ll probably end up buying it. I really need to learn how to sew.

I usually buy them. I can sew but am not great with a pattern.

Now that my kids are teenagers, they get their own costume together. Last year, my son got a long box and made a refrigerator costume. (he was inside with pullys to work the ‘freezer’ door)
Oddly enough, it was the hit of the party he attended. Go Figure.

That is so awesome! I wish I had the talent and creativity to make costumes like that! This year we plan to make our own…the key word here is *plan*…we’ll see if it actually happens =)

As a kid…a little bit of both. No kids of my own…yet.
Thank you for the Blessings Box idea!

We buy (or borrow, or use hand-me-downs) our costumes. My mom used to make most of mine, but I am not nearly that talented or creative.

Those are great costumes. I like to think that I’m crafty enough to make all the costumes, but it just depends on the mood I’m in at the time. A few years ago I made LarryBoy and Bob the Tomato costumes for my boys.

hI!
usually, I do buy halloween costumes when they were young. since they are grown up already, they are mostly preooccupied with other teen agers stuff during halloween. no more costumes now…. Nice week end!

I did make them when the boys were smaller…but now I usually have to buy them because what they want is too specific!

Definitely buy. I’m not creative enough.

Those are great costumes! My hubby and I buy Halloween costumes for our son. Last year he was a pirate. This year, my MIL gave my son a Thomas the Tank Engine costume.

Super cute photos! We buy. When I was growing up they were made.

Halloween was not very popular while I was growing up. Would you believe I’ve never worn a Halloween costume?

Such great pics! We buy costumes!!

My mom made some good costumes, but they never excited me like the yearsa we bought costumes. That’s being a kid, I guess. Some years we bought the plastic ones from Toys R Us that come with the mask and plastic suit. Inevitably I would trip in them, and be distraught when they ripped. LOL.

When I was a kid, we always made our costumes. But my daughter buys the ones for my grandkids.
